Madeleine Côté, BA., RMT

Practising since 1997, Madeleine has enjoyed helping patients to recover from various musculoskeletal pain and injury conditions using various Swedish massage techniques and myofascial release. Madeleine’s approach is to efficiently achieve positive outcomes from determined goals and provide coaching, home exercises and tips to ensure great muscle health maintenance.

Paul Lafleur, BSc, RMT

Paul obtained his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition, at the University of Ottawa in 1982. In 1988, he became a Registered Massage Therapist and is a founding member of the Metcalfe Massage Therapy Clinic. Paul works with many types of conditions, although he has a special interest in stress management, chronic and palliative care. He also works part-time at Elisabeth Bruyère and St. Vincent’s Hospitals, chronic care and palliative care facilities. He has worked with mentally challenged adults, people living with HIV and AIDS, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and cerebral palsy. Paul also enjoys working with "computer athletes." Paul has a strong interest in the psycho-emotional aspects of massage therapy and has studied Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy and Bioenergetics. He has been an active volunteer within the Ontario Massage Therapist Association (OMTA) and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Paul has written several articles for the Body Politic, the OMTA newsletter. Paul has also been facilitating workshops on stress management and gay positive, profeminist men’s groups since 1990.

Sylvie Lamarre, RMT

Using Swedish massage, Active Release Techniques? (ART), and CranioSacral Therapy, Sylvie treats athletes of every level, motor vehicle accident injuries, repetitive strain injuries, insomnia and headaches. She also enjoys working with clients to help reduce and manage stress.

Nicola Mansworth, RMT

Nicola graduated from Sutherland-Chan School in 1999 and since then has been practicing in Ottawa. She works with clients on sports- or work-related injury rehabilitation, stress reduction, and chronic pain management. Nicola also specializes in pregnancy massage. Her training in Trigger Point techniques, Myofascial Release and Advanced Sports Therapy all contribute to helping her clients maximize their recovery and return to their optimal condition.

Basil Phillips, BA., RMT

Basil has been in the profession since graduating from Algonquin College in 2000. He has an extensive sports background and uses sports massage techniques to treat athletes of all levels, from National level to recreational athletes. He is registered with Canadian Sport Centre Ontario to provide treatment to athletes on our Provincial and National sport teams. Basil’s aim is to enhance the performance of the client and return the person to full function as quickly as possible. He does this by focussing on injury rehabilitation through the use of deep tissue work, muscle and fascia release and trigger point work. These techniques are also great for stress tension reduction, chronic headaches and pain. Basil deals with all aspects of the treatment which includes educating the client on training, strength, conditioning and flexibility with the use of remedial exercise so that the individual can continue to improve their personal health, achieve their personal goals and live a more balanced and healthy life.

Kathryn Radford, BEd, RMT

Kathryn has been an RMT since 1997. She has a background in education and has taught massage theory and techniques at Algonquin College part time for four years. Using Swedish massage and Active Release Techniques Kathryn treats a variety of clients including athletes, repetitive strain injuries, pregnancy, multiple sclerosis, cancer as well as stress management. She is committed to educating people about the benefits of massage therapy and healthy ways of minimizing and managing stress and pain.

Frances Russell, RMT

Frances has been an RMT since 1995 and is licensed in both Ontario and British Columbia. She has been certified in Active Release Techniques® (ART) since 1998. She specializes in injury rehabilitation and maintenance treatments for athletes of all disciplines, as well as for patients with chronic muscular pain, nerve entrapment conditions, repetitive strains, and postural and structural imbalances. To ensure that patients derive the utmost benefit from her treatments, Frances provides education for stretching, strengthening, posture awareness and biomechanical and/or occupational improvements. Angela Wilson, BA, RMT

Angela finished her degree at the University of Western Ontario before graduating from Algonquin College in 2000. Having competed in many sports at different levels, Angela brings compassion and understanding to her practice. She specializes in injury rehabilitation and maintenance programmes, as well as stress reduction, MVA's, postural change re-education and pregnancy. Angela enjoys the challenge of resolving what each new person brings to the treatment table. By combining various massage techniques with exercise programmes and home care regimens, Angela ensures that her clients' daily activities and sports performance can be maximized.
